Have you heard about our Family Fundraiser?

The first session takes place on

Thursday, August 5 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Get your child's handprint placed on the stairwell wall to the Children's Area of the Library. For that matter get the whole family involved!

Your name and garden graphics will be added by local artist, Lynne Mack. (Lynne has done both of our murals downstairs.)

SUMMERTIME AT THE LIBRARY

It was a busy June here in the children's department and it looks to be an even busier July! Besides storytimes for the little ones and activity clubs for the school age children we had our 39th annual Pet Show. Here are some pictures from the Pet Show.

And as you know, we can't get enough of our animals here at the Pleasant Hills Library! So on Tuesday, June 29th we invited Kathy, Ashley and Demi from the National Aviary to come visit us! Boy did they bring in the crowd! Ok, it was actually Demi, the penguin, who was getting all the attention, but we couldn't have done it without Kathy and Ashley! Thanks, guys!

We had a blast at the SRC Kick-Off Party despite the grey clouds hanging overhead. I guess it was very fitting since the summer reading club theme this year is "Make A Splash"! I think it is a sign that we are off to a great start...that and the fact that over 100 people turned up for the event! Here are some pictures of the fun that we had.

SUMMER READING KICK-OFF PARTY

The children's summer Reading Club is "Make A Splash...READ!" Sign ups begin Saturday, June 5th at our annual Summer Reading Kick-Off Party at the Pleasant Kingdom Playground. Come to the park between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. to sign up for one of the 3 Summer Reading Clubs.

"Make a Splash...READ!" for children from birth to 6th grade.

"Make Waves @ your Library" for students going into grades 6 through 12.

"Water Your Mind...READ" for adults.

Once you sign up stick around for crafts, games, and ice cream!

DON'T MISS OUT....

You still have time to signup for Muffins with Mom this Saturday, May 1st at 9:30 a.m. But sign up soon so you don't miss out on the story, craft, activities and the muffins! Suggested age is 3 to 9 years old. You can bring Mom, Grandma, Aunt or another special lady of your choice. Hope to see you there!
